WaPo: Obama to propose combining agencies to shrink federal government»
Let’s get this straight — this article reports that:
- The president wants to cut and streamline government.
- This will save $3 billion in the next ten years.
- He is going to raise the debt limit by $1.2 trillion — him personally, not Congress, Constitution be damned!
- Some GOP members of Congress consider this all to be a promising development for limited government.
$3 billion over ten years, which ammounts to $300 million per years, is a paltry sum when compared to the >$3 TRILLION dollar budget… that’s less that 0.0001% of the total budget…..
You have to think in terms of percentages, not nominal values, when dealing with the federal deficit because although the numbers sound big, in comparison to the grand scheme of things they are not.

If ANYONE thinks changing the nameplate on the door will decrease the volume of government you are as dumb as government thinks you are. I’ve been through these “changes”, everything increases including the money spent to make the changes.

As a small business owner, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention one of the departments he is going to cut is the Small Business Administration.
